The Pre-College Initiative (PCI) program is designed to stimulate the interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics fields, or STEM. The goal is to encourage students in grades K–12 to attend college and pursue technical degrees.
Parents and students are invited to learn about our program which affords students with opportunities to engage with STEM professionals and academics, and gain valuable knowledge and experience through participation in regional and national STEM competitions including:
• Engineering Design Build and Robotics (VEX)
• Ten80 Racing
• Try-Math-A-Lon (TMAL)
• The Annual NSBE Conference.
Our program is currently administered at Montgomery County’s Wheaton High School in Silver Spring, Maryland and is open to Wheaton High School students. For more information, please contact the MKYF NSBE Jr. program chair, Howard Nicholson.
